Who
We Are
Here's
Life Inner City
is the compassionate urban ministry of Campus
Crusade for Christ. Our mission is to serve and
empower the local church to live out God's heart for the poor.
Nearly 20 cities throughout the U.S. currently have active teams
serving in them.
The
Chicago team officially began in 1979. In the years since, we
have seen much growth in our team as well as in the opportunities
for us to serve the city. We are based out of the Roseland
community on the southside, though our efforts
reach across the entire city. God has continued to faithfully
raise up individuals that have a heart for the poor to both support
and serve in this ministry.
The
Lord has also provided a building in the heart of Roseland to
serve as our ministry's “home base” of operations. A local businessman
donated the former stair factory to us in 1976. As the ministry
began to outgrow the space, the decision was made to build the
new Agape Center,
which was completed in 1995. Our facilities now include office
space, a gymnasium, a full kitchen, several multipurpose rooms,
a garage, and a computer lab. Our Here's Life Inner City team
shares the building with a plant church, New Hope Fellowship,
that is also committed to reaching out to the Roseland community
with the love of Christ.
